MONUMENT NO. 36899

DESCRIPTION + /

A later prehistoric outwork in the form of an earthwork bank and ditch lies 200 metres south-east of the Iron Age Hillfort of Bat's Castle. The earthwork is arranged in a "zig-zag" pattern across the ridge where Bat's Castle is most vulnerable, and was presumably constructed to enhance the defences of the Hillfort.
