SHOULDHAM PRIORY

DESCRIPTION + /

Gilbertine priory founded circa 1190 and dissolved in 1538. The buried remains of this and associated features (including a tile kiln, cemeteries, fishponds, a field system and a Roman road) lie immediately to the north of Shouldham village. The upstanding ruins were demolished circa 1831. The centre area of the monument is now the site of a farmhouse and garden.
