Hob Uid: 355823
Location :
Lincolnshire
East Lindsey
Croft
Grid Ref : TF5010059320
Summary : Probable mill mound.
More information : [TF 50105932] Tumulus [O.E.] (1)

The Tumulus at Croft, stands on a knoll. Slightly flattened,
and now railed in, the mound is 18 paces across and 7ft. high.
It has been used for cock-fighting.

Still in good condition. Slopes approximately 8ft. (2-3)

This is probably a mill-mound. It is flat-topped, sharply
profiled, and is adjacent to, and appears contemporary with,
two ditches or water-courses, which are possibly associated
with Northolme Manor House (see TF 55 NW 4 )

1/2500 survey revised. See TF 55 NW 4. (4)
