Marmont Priory Farm is a nondescript brick building of various constructional phases through the 18th to 20th century. There are no evident remains of monastic buildings nor is there any early stone juxtapositioned with the present fabric. The owners have knowledge of the history of their property but can recall no extant remains of the House; they state that the interior (not seen by this investigator) is in keeping with the present exterior. There are no adjacent earthworks (fishponds, precinct ditches etc) which may have had a monastic origin. (5) |
