Summary : Site of the deserted settlement of Bacton Or Boughton, recorded in 1334. Earthwork remains of rig and furrow.
More information : [Area TF 123 455]. (2) The lost village of Bacton, or
Boughton, with Asgarby, is mentioned in 1334.
Slight traces of earthworks visible on air photographs, but not
typical of deserted village. Area concerned is bounded by ridge and
furrow. (1-2)

The pasture fields in this area show only rig and furrow ploughing,
a few old fieldbanks and gravel diggings. There is no evidence of
medieval occupation where adjacent fields have been ploughed. (3)
