MALMSMEAD BRIDGE

DESCRIPTION + /

Packhorse bridge, probably 17th century, built from coursed rubblestone. It is of humped-back shape with a pair of round arches with rubble voussoirs and central triangular cutwaters with broach tops. There are parapets with rubble copings and curved retaining walls to the abutments. The bridge carries the Brendon - Oare road over Badgworthy Water, which forms the county boundary at this point.
