More information : Two large mounds lie one on each side of the Harbling-Billinborough road. There is no tradition about them and it seems not impossible that they are butt mounds. 'A' TF 11753469 Diameter, 25 paces, height 4 ft. 6 in, very flattened. 'B' TF 11793468 Ditched slightly on the north-east side, 27 paces across and 6ft. high, with flattened top. Both mounds carry clumps of elms. Detail shown but not named on O.S. 25" 1887. Mounds not shown on O.S. 1824. (1) The mounds are grass covered. Without excavation classification is not possible. Published survey (25") revised. (2) Both mounds apparently post-date the rig and furrow that surrounds them. The larger easterly one seems to have a squarish western side, but this may be something to do with the adjacent road. (3)
