Summary : A large quantity of Romano-British pottery including colour coated and Samian wares, plus an iron coulter, roofing tiles and some stone, were found at Horbling. Additional Romano-British pottery was found in the area in 1976. The site has been included by Scott in her gazetteer of Roman villas, presumably on the basis of the undescribed "stone" and the roof tiles.
More information : TF 136357 Large quantity of Romano British pottery including colour coated and Samian; iron coulter, roofing tiles and some stone, were found at Horbling. (1) The indicated site falls on nearly level arable land at present mostly ploughed. Perambulation failed to produce any further material. (2) Additional Romano-British pottery found in 1976. (3)
