More information : [TF 05729278] CROSS [GT] (1) Stone Cross (AD 1451) [NR] (2) A cross base and shaft inscribed and dated AD 1541. It is probably from Bishop's Bridge [at TF 032911] a medieval bridge, rebuilt in 1840. (3) The remains of the cross are at TF 05729282 - the shaft has now fallen. The inscription and date (both apparently recut) are clearly decipherable and the date reads 1451. See GPs : AL/63/7/1 and 23/8. There is a Victorian stone ornament on the east. (4)
