Caistor Canal, 4 miles long, with 6 locks, commences on the New River Ancholme Navigation near Creampole in Kelsey Carrs, TF 01079897, and ends at Moortown, 3 1/2 miles west of Caistor, TF 07089910: made under an Act of 1793. (2)

This disused canal remains clear of obstruction and water-filled
over all but the eastermost 3/4 mile of its length. None of the
locks are now operable. See annotated 6" sheet on Illn. Cards. (3)

Five of the original six stone lock chambers remain, a warehouse converted into a house at Moortown, and the abutments of the bridge under the Ancholme tow path at the western end. (5)
