St Peters Church

Summary : 12th-14th century, spire restored 1872. Coursed limestone rubble and ashlar, lead and Collyweston slate roofs. West tower with broach spire, nave, chancel, north and south aisles, south porch. at the west end are stocks and a whipping post.

St Peter's Church, Threekingham, is late Norman or Transitional to
early Decorated.

At the west end of the north aisle are the dilapidated stocks and
whipping-post.

In the churchyard is the base and 30" of the shaft of a cross. (2-3)

Church in normal use. The stocks and whipping post now stand at the
west end of the south aisle. See GP AO/65/39/8.

The churchyard cross has a square socket stone, 0.55m across and
0.25m high. The octagonal shaft, 0.8m high, is 0.20m square at the
base, and is now badly weathered. See GP AO/65/25/5. It is located at
TF 08983611. (4)
