ST MARYS CHURCH

Traditionally the former domestic chapel of the nearby castle. The South doorway, with its tympanum depicting Christ with two angels, dates to 1130-40, but the keying indicates an earler building. The rest is mainly 12th and 13th centuries. Simple plan of nave with double West bellcote.
