The house of Dominican or Black friars stood between the walls
and the river near the water gate. The House was established before 1241, and dis-established in 1538. Part of the church
was standing in 1600. (2-3)

Full description and history. (6-9)

An examination of all the available air photographs revealed no
evidence of the friary refered to by the previous authorities. (10)
