Summary : A perforated stone Bronze Age axe hammer was found at Buscombe Farm in 1944-5. It is thought to date to the Early or Middle Bronze Age.
More information : SS 686396 A perforated stone axe-hammer was ploughed
up in Leeball Field, Buscombe Farm, Challacombe, circa 1944-5.
It is a greenstone, unlocalized, but most likely from Cornwall.
Implements of this general type, with a hole for insertion of the
handle, are most closely dated within the Early and Middle Bornze
Age. The axe remains in the possession of the finder, Mr H P. Dallyn. (1)
