More information : HOPSFORD (425838; CPE UK 2546/3777 and 4277) DMV. This hamlet was in Withybrook parish. In the L.S. six persons were listed. It is also in D.B. When Dugdale wrote it was 'now little better than a depopulated place, there being nothing left but the skeleton of the manor house and two mean cottages'. The site can be seen on the ground within the angle of a road bend to the west and north of Old Hall Farm. The ford with a street leading down to it is quite clear.
