Summary : The church was built in the early 14th century, possibly as the chancel to a planned chapel ante portas of the priory of Augustinian Canons founded by William de Clinton in 1336. 15th, 18th and mid 19th century additions and alterations. Nave and chancel under continuous roof. The building possibly stands on the site of an earlier church mentioned in the late 13th century. Built of squared and irregularly coursed sandstone with a plain tiled roof.
