At SP 2779 1185 in a ploughed field excavations by a relation of Mr Walker has exposed, at a depth of 0.4m, fragmentary walling of a Roman building. One stepped wall is 6.0m long and 0.5m high the others are of lesser dimensions (see sketch plan). The stone slab construction has in places been patched with bricks but there is nothing to establish the extent or nature of the building. Some fragments of flue tile and a few stone roofing slabs are scattered around. Building remains surveyed at 1:2500 on PFD. (3)
