BORDESLEY ABBEY

DESCRIPTION + /

Cistercian monastery, founded in 1138 by Waleran de Beaumont on land granted by Queen Matilda. It was dissolved in 1538. Excavations have revealed much of the church and the claustral range to the South of the church. There is much evidence for land management and drainage works including fishponds.
