(Site of)

[Name centred: SK 97246950] Malandry [TI]. (1-2)

The hospital of Holy Innocents, commonly called "La Maladerie",
founded allegedly before 1094 or between 1110-35, for lepers, was
granted to Burton Lazars in 1461 and dissolved about 1546.

The boundaries of the site, now cut through by the railway and
occupied by school buildings and St. Botolph's vicarage house,
are clearly marked on the O.S. maps.

A separate chapel for the hospital inmates, dedicated to the
Virgin Mary, is shown by Hill at approximately SK 9720 6951. (3-5)

There are no surface remains of the Malandry. Modern development
occupies the area. (6)
