Summary : Earthwork mound; its relation to medieval ploughing suggest it is an earlier feature, possibly a Bronze Age bowl barrow reused as a Medieval windmill mound
More information : At SK 71804235 is a small mound, nearly 8.0m in diameter and 0.5m. high. It stands in permanent pasture within the angle of two medieval field boundaries, and seems to be contemporary with them. Its purpose is uncertain. Surveyed at 1/2500. (1) Earthwork mound, 1m high and 7m in diameter; the fact that it was used to mark the limit of ploughing suggest it may be an earlier feature, possibly a Bronze Age round barrow, reused as a windmill mound. (2)
