Summary : Franciscan friary founded circa 1230, dissolved in 1539. The friary was in the Broadmarsh near the castle. Part of the cemetery was located and excavated in 1937.

The Greyfriars' south boundary wall was found in four places in 1937 during building operations. Greyfriars' burial ground also found in excavations in Broad Marsh. (5)

No remains of the site falls in new Broad Marsh shopping precinct. (6)
