The Prior of Repton had, at Sutton Bonnington, a Grange Farm known as Repingdon Grange, but called locally Hobgoblins. (2)

Hobgoblins. Probably c.1600. Now two cottages. In the garden is a stone rubble wall, probably 14 c. incorporating a moulded pointed stone doorway. [List contains architectural description] (3)

A much restored, 2 storied, brick and stone constructed house standing on a stone plinth course. The present owner stated that the fireplace had, originally, been surmounted by a 14c. inscribed stone.

As stated by authy.3, the garden contains a stone wall and arch (indicated on AM 25" plan), the features are heavily overgrown and no architectural detail of the 14c. could be identified, they are however, doubtless associated with the former Grange. The source of the name 'Hobgoblins' was not determined, but is probably derived from local folklore.
See G.P.AO/60/310/1: Aspect from NE. (4)

No change from survey of 10.1.61. (5)
