THE OLD HALL AND THE PRIORY

House dated 1736, incorporating remains of a Benedictine alien cell of the Abbey of St Wandrille, Normandy; founded in the reign of Henry I, dissolved in 1386. The chapel block, an undercroft and cross-wing survive in the later hall, and were built circa 1300. The priory was granted to the Carthusian Priory of Coventry after suppression of the alien cells.
