MONUMENT NO. 309557

Two Neolithic polished stone axes, assigned to petrological Group VII, were found in November 1955 by a Mr J Saxon (and then given to Mr L Middleton of Bradwell) on the surface of a field adjoining and west of Bradwell Brook, 400 yards north of the church. They (the axes) were loaned to Sheffield City Museum.
