More information : SK 1916 6473 BEE LOW O.E. (1) (Human Remains. Cist & etc. found) T.I. (2) Bee Low, a tree-covered bowl barrow, upwards of twenty yards diameter, on Meadow-place Farm was excavated 16.6.1843 & 3.5.1851. In the first excavation the primary deposit was found at the centre consisting of a cremation with a bone pin and nearby fragments of a beaker. Above this was a disturbed secondary inhumation. Two crouched burials (one in a stone lined grave) were found in the second excavation, accompanied by bronze awls, an 'A' beaker and a flint knife; also a cist contained a cremation in the top levels with a bronze awl and an inhumation at the bottom.
