The most likely site for this grange is in the area c1 mile SE of Cauldon where all the field-names include the element 'Grange' on the tithe map of Calton. No trace of the grange was seen within this area: there is no medieval work at either Caldon Grange (formerly Over Caldon Grange) or Lower Caldon Grange. (2)
