More information : [SK 06273971]. Site of Fishpond. (1) [Centred at SK 06063978]. Across the Croxden Brook, and carrying part of the precinct wall, is a massive pond-bay, c.5m in height. The size of the bay and the pond it contained, together with the ingenious leat-system to the mill, indicate that this was a mill-pond. No evidence of fish-ponds was seen below the pond-bay. See Map Diagram. (2) The mill-pond is unchanged but below the pond-bay at SK 06283972 is a marshy area with evidence of a retaining wall at the eastern end. Probably the remains of a fish-pond. Surveyed at 1/2500. (3) No change to previous information. (4)
Surveyed by AS&I in 2008. (5)
