Summary : Md Ironworking site (15th/16th C)
More information : NZ 82770574. Medieval ironworking site on the north bank of the RiverEsk near Grosmont Priory. A layer of slag, charcoal, bones, tiles andpotsherds exposed by floods, was seen by Hayes in 1946. Some tiles
and sherds have been identified as 15th/16th century by the British
Museum, and are in the possession of R J M Rastall, Grosmont Priory.
