More information : Medieval hospital, dedicated to St Nicholas, at Yarm was founded before 1185. Between 1222 and 1230 it was granted to Healaugh Park Priory. It was dissolved before 1546. (1)
NZ 423120. The hospital at Little Spital Garth, Yarm was still standing in 1590, but in my opinion was pulled down that year. For about the past 2 centuries Little Spital Garth (field names: Great Spital Garth, NZ 423121 and Spital Flatts NZ 428117) was used as a nursery and human remains were occasionally dug up. (2)
The site of the hospital, as indicated in the plan attached to (2) is now occupied by houses. (3)
