ROUND HILL

DESCRIPTION + /

Round Hill is a grass covered mound, 33.5 metres in diameter, 4.2 metres high on the south west and 1.7 metres high on the north east side. The perimeter has been mutilated, possibly by excavations. The top of the mound has been levelled and is 7 metres in diameter. It has previously been interpreted as a round barrow, but current knowledge suggests it to be a Motte and Bailey castle. It is scheduled as such.
