More information : NZ 382 375 Long Barrow Nr Old Wingate. (1) Situated at NZ 3814 3745 on a gentle S facing slope in a ploughed field is an earthen mound about 45.0m long N/S by 20.0m wide at its N end, 16.0m wide at the S end, and about 1.5m maximum height at the centre. It appears to have a much stonier content than the surrounding field. Possibly a long barrow. Surveyed at 1:2500. (2)
The remains of this probable long cairn, centred at NZ 3814 3745, were surveyed at 1:200 by RCHME in 1984. The remains have been eroded by the plough, but are clearly stonier than the surrounding field. Full information is included in the NMR Archive. (3)
A Neolithic long barrow is visible as an earthwork mound on air photographs centred at NZ 3814 3744. (4)
