More information : [Area SU 975 767] The little park on the east and north sides of the castle which in Norden's time [Norden's chap. of Windsor 1607] contained only 280 acres was enlarged and enclosed with a brick wall by William III. It now consists of about 500 acres. [Boundary plotted from 2]. (1-2) All but the western edge of the area formerly occupied by The Little Park now falls within the Home Park. The limits of the earlier park are not visible on the ground. An obvious boundary on the north and east sides would seem to be a steep natural scarp but this appears to be inside the area defined by Norden. (3) Additional bibliography. (4)
