More information : (NZ 2109 3126) A circular building with hypocaust forming part of a bath suite, situated outside the southeast rampart of the fort was excavated 1878-80. Plan (1a). The building variously described as a caldarium of sudatorium had three structural phases; the first period tentatively ascribed to the late 1st - early 2nd century (1b). No dating evidence was noted for the two later phases, although the discovery of terra-cotta "bobbin-like" objects were thought to be Kiln-rests. (1) A shallow circular depression is the only surface indication of the building. Area under pasture. (2) Not surveyable. (3)
Nothing visible on APs. (4) As stated by authorities 2 and 3, an unsurveyable shallow circular? depression in arable ground at NZ 2109 3126 is the only evidence of this now. (5)
