AUCKLAND CASTLE

Thirteenth century and later bishop's palace on the site of a 12th century bishops palace. Most of the buildings date to the 16th century, with an 18th century gothic villa. The private chapel was originally the great hall of the palace, it underwent 14th century alterations and was converted to a chapel circa 1660.
