Summary : Bronze Age bowl barrow located in a fir plantation on the northern spur of Beacon Hill south of the Kennet valley. The barrow is 22 metres in diameter and up to 2.25 metres high. The surrounding ditch is still partially visible and on the west the ditch appears to have three causeways across it. The ditch has been largely infilled but survives as a depression 5 metres wide and 1 metre deep. The irregularities in the surface of the mound probably relate to an unrecorded antiquarian excavation of the barrow. Scheduled. |
