WINCHESTER GREYFRIARS

DESCRIPTION + /

Franciscan Friary church dedicated to St Francis, founded in 1237 and dissolved in 1538. The site was the whole north part of the space between Middle Brooks, North Walls and Lower Brooks, but did not extend as far south as Cossack Lane. The Priors Lodging was standing in 1856, and Milner traced the church foundations in the great garden between Middle and Lower Brook.
