More information : [NZ 16824644] Greenwell Ford [NAT] (1) "....From 1630 to 1850 the house and surrounding land were in the possession of the family of which I am a member, and for a large portion of that period the house was known as 'Greenwell Ford'....." (2) "The present house was built in 1726 on the site of an earlier building of unknown date which was destroyed by fire. Name correct as Greenwell Ford" (b) Date stones within the house and on the adjacent farm building confirm date of erection. Greenwell Ford (including chapel adjoining) Grade II Ceorgian. (4) As described, but not outstanding. (5)
