Summary : A bowl barrow set on a flat clay plain at the foot of a chalk escarpment. It is visible as an irregular mound 0.5 metres high and is surrounded by a ditch from which material was quarried during its construction. This has become infilled over the years but will survive as a buried feature. Scheduled. |
More information : (SU 18048272) Mound (TI). (1) Chiseldon - 14 paces in diameter, 1ft high. A small mound with the appearance of a barrow. (2) A ploughed and spread earthen mound 0.3m high and ditchless. Superficially it resembles a barrow but there are other vague irregularities in the field and the origin of all is most uncertain.
