More information : SU 14057140. IA/RB settlement, an acre at most, integrated with Celtic fields and contemporary tracks. Two or three huts are represented by slight platforms. Finds of EIA brooches and IA and RB pottery suggest that occupation started before, and lasted nearly throughout, the Roman period. (1-4)
Depressions marking several hut sites are clearly discernible in the area centred SU 139712, and extend over about 1 1/2 hectares. Divorced Survey at 1:2500. (5)
This area was mapped at 1:10,000 from APs by the Fyfield Down and Overton Down Mapping Project. The settlement site lies within an extensive field system SU 17 SW 26, with associated trackways. The APs indicate that there are many surface irregularities in the region of the settlement, but individual hut platforms have not been identified. (6)
