Moot House

Summary : House probably first constructed about 1650, and altered during the early 18th century. The house is set back from the road within a small garden which is bounded on the west by a brick wall with central piers crowned with ball finials flanking a wrought iron gate. There is a similar gate on the opposite side of the road which is set in the centre of curved recess. This forms the entrance to the gardens. The kitchen range, formerly the Laundry is Grade I. The Temple has been demolished.

The Moot House, with garden walls and gates, garden walls and
gates to Castle Mound, and gate piers in Moot Lane to N. of House.
Probably first built about 1650, and altered during the early 18th century. The house is set back from the road in a small garden bounded on the West by a brick wall with central piers crowned with ball finials flanking a wrought iron gate. A similar gate (imported)
on opposite side of the road in centre of curved recess, forms
the entrance to the Castle Mound garden. Grade 1 (2)
