Bury Hill Camp

Summary : A univallate hillfort known as Bury Hill Camp, located 600 metres east of Bridge Farm. It is situated on the southern tip of a clay ridge with commanding views over the clay vale to the south. The enclosed area is ovoid and is defined by a bank up to 0.7 metres high and 5 metres wide, surrounded by a ditch up to 1 metre deep and 5 metres wide. There is an entrance to the north west. The monument is 180 metres long on the north-south axis and 135 metres from east to west. Scheduled.

A univallate hill-fort on Bury Hill of six and a half acres, reduced by ploughing but under grass in 1949. (2)

A very denuded hillfort, mostly visible simple as a ditch though traces of the inner bank are visible in places.

Probable Iron Age hillfort, seen as cropmarks and earthworks.
Morphological description: an asymmetric, curvilinear enclosure, 180m by 135m, defined by 1 ditch and 1 bank.
