More information : (ST 96564549) Tumulus (GT). (1)

A bowl barrow, 17 paces in diameter and 2 1/2 ft high, measured from

barrow which produced a primary cremation in a 'neat circular cist'.
A 'brass buckle' was found near it and near the top was the skeleton
of a horse (3). M E Cunnington noted two small low barrows southwest
of this barrow in 1913 (2). (2-3)

This is a bowl barrow with a narrow ditch and a bank. It is mutilated
in the NE but generally in good condition. There is no trace of the
Cunnington barrows.
Published 1:2500 survey revised. (4)

No change; revised survey of 4.10.68 correct. (5)
Originally recorded as Knook 4 by Goddard. (6)

[The excavated barrow has now been recorded separately from the two other barrows; these barrows now form the record ST 94 NE 28]. (7)
