Summary : Roman settlement consisting of buildings dating from the 2nd to 4th centuries, and later replaced by cemeteries continuing into the 5th century.
More information : Areas ST 519224 and 52223. Two areas of Roman suburbs excavated 1974-5. Each consisted of buildings, in the first area very substantial, dating from 2nd to 4th century and then being superseded by cemeteries going up to probably the 5th century. (1)
