Summary : A Roman cemetery with coffins, 1st to 4th century pottery and coins were found between 1948 and 1950.
More information : [Area: ST 52332223] During the digging of a watermain
trench from June 1948 to Jan.1950 [indicated by pencil line], large
quantities of Roman pottery (1st-4thc), coffin burials, over 100
coins including two small hoards, foundations etc., have been found
throughout the length of this trench. [Inhumations indicated from 'A'
to 'H']. (1)

Interments and fragments of pottery were indicated by Skinner on
his sketch map in this area. (2)

Nothing of significance is visible on the surface in the area
indicated above. (3)
