More information : [ST 45574173] Meare Farm [TI] (1) Manor Farm House, Meare is 14th cent. with some 16th/17th cent. fenestration, and is an interesting survival with many original features. Once the property of the Abbots of Glastonbury and one of their resedences. Grade 1. (2) This building is of outstanding architectual interest. See G.P's AO/66/243/3 and 4. (3) Manor Farmhouse with attached outbuildings, St Mary's Road, Meare. Summer residence of the Abbots of Glastonbury, now farmhouse. C14 with C16 alterations, lesser C19 work. Grade I. (4) Manor House, Meare, built as early as 1340 at the latest. The Hall was E of the entrance. In the back wing is a large upper room. (5)
