Summary : Probable Roman inhumations found on the north point of Ham Hill in 1866.
More information : [ST 47651730] Skeletons found AD 1866 [TI] (1) Several human skeletons found whilst cutting a road at the north point of Hamdon Hill, are probably of the same period as the Roman remains found a few chains westward. [see ST 41 NE 13] (2) The road referred to above is probably the hollowed track which leads south-westwards from the north-western corner of the spur (located at the NW end of Ham Hill) down into Stoke sub Hamdon village (3). (4)
