This is of long-axis type, and was examined on Feb. 5th 1930. The measurements to the internal faces of the side walls were 24 ft. and 37 ft. respectively from the east side of the service road to Planetrees. [Hepple's sketch shows the centre at NY 9309 6952.] (2-3)
There are no visible remains; the site is mainly covered by a modern road. Resited on O.S. 25" from Hepple's sketch. (4)
The milecastle was excavated in 1930 and found to be a long axis type (5a). There are no visible remains of the milecastle; the site is mainly occupied by the modern road and the garden of "Planetrees". The Ordnance Survey siting at NY 9309 6953 is accepted. (5)
