This was located on Feb. 14th 1930, "63 yds east of the Plantation wall". Its side walls are 10 ft. thick and its internal width is fifty feet. There are traces of a ditch round it, as at milecastle 25. (2-3)
Resurveyed at 1:2500. The site is marked by an earthen mound 1.2 m high, extensively spread by cultivation. The ditch is visible as a wide but superficial depression around the S., E., and W. sides. (4)
The milecastle survives as a platform up to 1m high; the ditch is superficial but surveyable to the south and east; the milecastle is possibly of long axis type. (5)

A Roman milecastle is visible as an earthwork on air photographs at NY 9751 6893. The feature is visible as a platform with a narrow outer ditch. (7)
