Summary : The site of Roman turret 22A, part of the defences on Hadrian's Wall. It is buried beneath the modern road.
More information : [NY 98488 68732] Turret 22A [GSC] (Site of) [T.I.] (1) [NY 98484 68732] This was located, in March 1930, 151 yards east of the second fence west of the Errington Arms. The south wall is all under the fence on the south side of the road and does not project into the field. The masonry was four course high on the west side and three on the east. (2) There are no visible remains. Resited on OS 25" from measurements above. (3) There is no surface trace of the turret, the site lies beneath the modern road at NY 9848 6873. (4) Scheduled (5) Located on the English Heritage map of Hadrian's Wall 2010. (6)
