Turret 29b was excavated in 1912 and found to have been unoccupied after the end of the 2nd C. The turret was approached by a branch path eleven feet wide, leading off at right angles from the Military Way. (2)
This turret has been reduced almost to ground level and is now turf-covered, with side walls protruding in places. The branch path is visible as a slight ground swelling. See Ground Photograph AO/65/157/7 for NW aspect.
Turret 29B, Limestone Bank - Now turf-covered, but parts of the north, west and east walls survive 1-2 courses high. The road connecting the turret to the Military Way is visible as a slight mutilated agger [NY 8771/18]. (4)

The turret and a road running south to the Military Way were seen as earthworks and mapped from air photographs; the road is seen over a distance of 30 m but is separately recorded as NY 87 SE 40. (7-8)
